Topic: Spocks Ears? Posted: May 29 2004 at 13:35 |
Maybe this one is very easy, I don't know. And it's not really trivia, because I don't know the answer... I want it from YOU. Here it goes:
Why is the band called SPOCK'S BEARD? Is it about Spock from Star Trek? But he doesn't have a beard!

HI, THIS IS CÉSAR INCA.
According to some interviews I've read some time ago, the band's name came out of a silly idea about Spock's character - the idea turned out so funny for the original forusome, that it eventually became the band's name. But... they were a bit afraid that some royalties woulda have to be paid to the Star Treck people on behalf of the use of the name Spock. So at first, when asked, they offered the "false alibi" that it was the name of a band member's pet.
Regards.

Just a guess, but Spock did have a beard in "Mirror, Mirror" -- or the Spock in the parallel universe, anyway.

HI, THIS IS CÉSAR INCA.
Now I rememeber... I think that someone n he Internet mentioned the existence of a Star Treck episode in which Spock actually wore a beard. I'll leave it to the Star Treck freaks... I'm not tha tfamiliar with that series. I'm more into twisted/wicked/extreme/hopeless dramas and thrillers (both on TV and movies), suc has 'win Peaks', 'Mulhollnd Drive', 'Memento', 'Mystic River', that kind of thing..
Regards.

I only saw Star Trek II, III, IV and IX (Insurrection). On the Dutch television, all Star Trek movies are broadcasted again!
Did Spock have a beard in one of the movies or in the television series?

Hmmm... On a Thread called "Spock's Ears", Three-Star posters telling Five-stars that their Trek questions cannot be answered... That leaves me with but one thing to say:
"In Case Of Sonic Attack, Think Only Of YOURSELF."

Looks like you catch on quick, how's yer Balzac? Better then Spock's I would assume. Spock and Uhuru when beaming down to planet Spumant'e when the Hypo-glutenator malfunctions and switched their special purpose. Crikey, what a mess.
Welcome aboard young Jedi and fasten yer belt, the rides about to start and don't wave yer hands in the air, this is not a George Michael web site.

LOL! You're right, CL350K! (what kind of name is that? Are you a droid? If so, are you related to C-3PO or R2-D2? )
Come on, danbo! We must REVOLT! Continue talking about Star Trek!
Live long and prosper, my brother!

Allan Holdsworth is a Trek fan. Check out the cover of Atavachron. The title was also the name of a Star Trek episode. he also had songs with names of characters, such as; Mr. Spock from Tony Williams Lifetime's Believe It album, Zarabeth from Wardenclyffe Tower, plus a few others..... .

Not sure, but I think my Balzac's still bungeed to my CL350...
And as to what CL350K4 is, my guess is that you all are resourceful enough to figure that out...
Anyways, I just remember Spock with a beard in that episode (one of the more popular ones, IIRC).
Am I a Trekker? Probably about as much as I am a "Prog-Rocker"
