one of the really interesting things about the Italian scene is
the preponderence of 1 and done groups. Love have loved to have
heard further albums by Maxophone, or Ill Balletto Di Bronzo for
example.
As far as the poll... PFM but Le Orme is coming up fast......

LE ORME... Because they're not only reminiscences of the past and they're still able to release great prog albums like "Il fiume", "Elementi" and "Infinito"... And because of their outstanding live performances...
Anyway, I like almost all the other bands in this poll too...

Fortunately there are only 25 choices!!!  
I have mentioned some of the most famous progressive rock bands from the Italian scene. Each of these groups relased at least one good album.
