Oh come on... they're pure drone metal/ambient... interesting, but not even remotely resembling prog.

I find this band ridiculously boring. It's not intriguing to me at all. Furthermore, it is not prog.

True....the lines get sort of blurry there.

I must say I don't understand this band.  Metal nerds seem to salivate over them, but I just can't get into it.
On the difference between drone and post-metal, I would have to say that drone is more concerned with being uber-slow and sludgy, whereas post-metal is more concerned with creating layers and feelings, like post-rock.
From my experience (and of course this IMHO), post-metal is much more emotive and has a (much much much) wider range of capabilities than drone-metal.

Would you consider bands like Isis,Pelican,Red Sparowes,Cult of Luna and Neurosis post metal?

Might be a stupid question but I am just getting into these particular bands and this music is pretty new to me.

Isis, Pelican and Neurosis (the other two I'm not terribly familiar with) are very much fusing the aesthetics of post rock with that of metal (and to a greater or lesser extent drone). I don't know how much acceptance "post metal" has ever had as a term, but it's certainly not unfitting of what these bands do, both in terms of their music and their fanbase. That said, I don't think any of these bands quite reach the same heights that post rock bands did, but that all comes down to personal preference in the end.
