Guns and Roses win on grounds of vastly greater talent than the rest.
Good shout to David Coverdale of Whitesnake for epitomising the term "cock rock" and to Christian hair metal band Stryper for being the lamest thing ever to have existed on planet Earth...

I wouldn't say Guns n' Roses are glam hair metal, really, as they combined elements from that genre but also added some more straight hard rock and other genres to the formula. I vote for them, too. I happen to like a lot some of their songs, and for me the favorite is "Estranged". I don't know if there's many people that'll agree with me, but I like it, and a few more. Actually, I like Use your Illusion 2, a fair percentage of I, a couple songs of AFD, and nothing of the debacle that was Spaguetti.

Alice Cooper (not glam in my book). The single finest "rock" concert I've ever attended, theatrics aside (Madison Square Garden - "Billion Dollar Babies Tour"). The whole band seemed to work as one, tight.

Aerosmith shouldn't really be included in the poll. They only made 3 real Glam/Hair albums.
Anyway, I voted Guns N' Roses. Lyrically far, far ahead of all the
rest. Mr. Big might have been better instrumentalists, but GN'R's
compositions were better. I like the first four Van Halen albums aswell.

Whitesnake got my vote. Not a glam hair metal band in my opinion.
What's Scorpions doing here, I don't get it either.
Mr Big is another band from the list that I like very much. So is Europe.
Winger had a new album last year - really great.

The ones I like in the list are those who are NOT hair metal. I used to be a big Whitesnake fan before '1987' - when they were a great, bluesy hard rock band - though that album is not by any means bad. The Scorpions have also produced quite a few great tunes - commercial maybe, but nothing to do with hair metal. And Aerosmith, though they also turned commercial in the past few years, have definitely little to do with hair metal - same as Guns 'n' Roses, who I have never been able to get into. Strange as it may sound from one like me, if I had to choose one 'real' hair metal band from the above list, I'd choose Motley Crue, mostly for nostalgic reasons (memories of my wasted youth ...). Some of their material was quite entertaining, though certainly not my cup of tea - in the Eighties, I was much more into Maiden, Priest, Ozzy and even Metallica!

I like Glam Metal, but Extreme for me is the most interesting Hair Metal band.
Bettencourt is amazing.
