i realy enjoyed the new Alcest, very good stuf, it brought a fresh air in this 2010, not much excellent post rock/metal so far this year..

^ That was better than what i heard before, but the rhythms and composing style just aren't terribly interesting to me i guess. Still, not a bad band by far though. 

Have you heard this "Slow Six" band? ( http://www.myspace.com/slowsix ) It's like a polyrhythm  bonanza.

Big smile  Well, atleast i'll be catching Red Sparowes in April. I really like their old stuff, but it'll be nice to hear them playing their more "rockin'" style new stuff.

guys, yesterday i saw MONO. that was the first post rock concert in Macedonia of A great band as Mono. it was amazing show. Mono sounded like never before. such a powerfull , energetic  performance , almost no mistakes made, just flawless. Superb.

New free post/sludge metal from Finland: Mother Susurrus http://mothersusurrus.com/hear 

Their debut EP is downloadable from that link, two songs in 32 minutes. I just bumped into this on another forum, and the first track sounds pretty good to me so far. One of the band members states their mutual influences include for example "YOB, King Crimson, Ulver, Ramesses, Tool, Melvins, Mastodon etc".

I'd say to wait for Panoticon over those two choices as well. Although, i'm probably the only person here who likes "In The Absence Of Truth" just as much as Panopticon. Really, if you dug Wavering Radiant, Oceanic sounds a bit closer to that album than Panopticon imo.

Woah, a kiwi post rock band? And they're opening for Isis? I must check them out if I can find them! Are they overly hard to find? My local cd store doesn't stock much outside of the regular radio stuff, so I usually have to get all my albums in huge stockpile shopping sprees in the big cities LOL

Thanks Harry, I'll see if I can find a copy of either Oceanic or Panopticon soonish; at my favourite store they only have the Holy Tears EP and the Oceanic Remixes, but I'll wait/look around for Panopticon.

Oceanic and Panopticon are my 2 favorites from Isis, Oceanic just edging out Panopticon but only by a hair.
In The Absence Of Truth tends to be somewhat of an acquired taste and isn't as generally well received by post metal fans as Oceanic and Panopticon are, but I like it, but do keep in mind it's a very different sounding album to Panopticon and Oceanic.

Big fan of Avoid the Light.
I actually managed to come across a legit copy on CD too in a store a few weeks ago and of course I bought it. It was a huge surprise to see it, because it's extremely hard to find CDs of fairly underground post rock bands in CD stores here
