Heard the name of this band (i'm a bit of a kraut-addict Tongue) but hadn't heard them yet.
I'm usually not fond of post 75 fusion but this one still sounds quite adventurous.
I might find me one of their earlier albums maybe!

Today a song from the Multi-National group Esperanto(Eclectic Prog). The song is called "The Rape" from the 1975 album Last Tango. Here ya go:

Is that album new songs/recordings or something recorded in the 1970s but not released till now?
 
Anyway, here's another song. From the German group Missus Beastly(Jazz Rock/Fusion). This is the song "Space Guerilla" from the 1978 album of the same name:

Today the American group Cathedral(Symphonic Prog) with their song called "Gong". From their only album Stained Glass Stories released in 1978. This is an intrumental but the other songs on the album are supposed to have vocals. Here you go:

All opinions welcome. The Yes, Genesis and Dream Theater fans need to expand their horizons. The songs on my list cover a broad range of PA sub-genres...there is even some Indo-Prog/Raga-RockShocked
 
There is nothing from Proto, Related or Various Artists. No Neo either because the only Neo Songs I liked are by Marillion. Also nothing from the metal subs because: a)most of the prog metal I like is not obscure, b)I don't like the songs here for the metal bands I don't know. I have never heard a full album by Death, but they do have a video for a song I like. However, that song is not a stream here. If it were, I would have included them.

Great idea for a thread but you may find people here are rather addicted to Yes, Genesis and Dream Theater polls and don't care much for obscurities.
Let's hope some good comes of it!

Here's my take:

Birth Control: Not bad but I can write better stuff Smile
                         I know their debut album which is run of the mill heavy organ rock.
                         They sound a bit more adventurous here. The album cover is cool as well.
                         I like the sounds and structure of the songs but none of the melodies overwhelm me.

Wha-Ha-Ha:   This screams Japan from miles away, quirky and crazy, and no I couldn't write this sort of stuff
                         Have never heard anything else from this band, and I don't think I will any time soon,
                         I'm not quitky enough for this

Do Make Say Think
                         Again unknown to me, but it's only recently I started dipping my toes in post-rock.
                         This genre is all about building up tension and this song builds up quite nicely indeed
                         so they must be a good act in the genre

Aviary            Sorry, this is one that confirms again Crossover Prog is really nothing for me.

Sorry to end on such a negative note but I'm sure you have better things coming in the remaining 21 links, or you wouldn't have stopped at one 'maybe' listen of this Avaria album Smile

Now a song from American group Aviary(Crossover Prog). The song is called "Average Boy" from their 1979 self-titled debut album. I think I may have heard their first album once, but this song was all I remembered:

Today is my birthday. I'm between 18 and 40. Since I'm from Canada, I'm going to post a Canadian group today from Toronto. I used to live in the Toronto area until the damn recession ruined my life. Now I live in the small town I grew up in.
 
So, today's song is from the Toronto group Do Make Say Think(Post-Rock/Math-Rock). They are not extremely obscure to post-rock fans, but they are not as well known as, well, other more well known post-rock bands. This song is called "Fredericia" from the 2003 album Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn. I've heard a few of their songs but not a whole album yet. Here it is:

Today a song from Japanese group Wha-Ha-Ha(RIO/Avant-Prog). This song is called "Inanaki" taken from their 1981 album Shinutokiwa Betsu. I've only heard one other song by them. Check it out:

Hey folks, the idea of this thread is to discuss streaming songs here on PA by relatively obscure prog artists. I have a list of 25 songs that I want you to listen to and comment on. The only thing these artists have in common is that I haven't heard a full album by any of them. In some cases a PA stream is the only song I've heard by them. Some of these groups are more obscure than others, but generally are not 'household names' in prog circles. If you are familiar with some of the artists/albums that I post don't be afraid to comment if these artists have better songs/albums. Or conversely, if the PA stream I link is in fact that artists best song. Feel free to post your own links to PA streams of songs you think are good and more people should hear. Hopefully you won't recommend any songs on my list.Cry
