there is nothing you can do for existing tinnitus, except prevent it from getting worse
i do not use headphones or go to concerts anymore, and just listen to music at home thru regular speakers
i have been this way since i was 44, and though it is not getting worse, it is not subsiding either, which is disturbing
              what are ear locks?

Aw, sorry, what I mean is when maybe ear fullness, or a pressure in the ear, the same kind you get when you travel with an airplane, sorry for my bad english. I think this thing started with a normal flu, I got sudden vertigo one day and almost fell flat on the street when I was out for a walk.

I went to a doctor, the sudden vertigo scared me a bit. The doctor examined my ears and said it was just a normal flu virus and that it will pass in a few days.

There's a balance nerves i the ear that can be affected by bacteria or a virus.

After that I got tinnutus, and the ear pressure comes and goes, and I feel a bit unsteady sometimes, but not as bad as the first time.

Oh, sorry for rambeling on about myself.

How bad is your tinnitus? Can you sleep OK? Does is bother you a lot?

(Oh my, maybe there should be a new forum for old farts like us to discuss our ills Smile)

Hi, when i am in an environment where there already is sound (very common living like i do in a big city) usually i do not notice it really-when things are silent like lying in bed late at nite, i can here the Shhhhhhhh in both ears quite acutely -i can sleep ok, but as i say this is not subsiding, and my doc said that it will not-oh, well, you live with what you have to-i wish i could still go to concerts and use headphones, but both are completely out of the question for me
