Pawn hearts, Godbluff, Still life are all in my top 20 (Pawn Hearts at No1, a
spot shared with the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway). H to He is not quite
as 'tortured' as these three, but the album kicks ass anyway, 'House with
No Door' is a beautiful song and 'Pioneers' and 'Emperor'
unmistakably possess that unique, otherwordly VDGG quality...

Anyone heard the VDGG reissues with all the bonus tracks? Apparently,
even more recordings from the Pawn Hearts sessions exist, but they have
been lost...

(As I type this I am fondling my tickets to the July VDGG show in
Amsterdam!!!)

That's a bad album.ihad it, when i was younger i tried to appreciate it many times,it's just too much for nothing.in the end i gave it to my little niece to sold it to take Kylie's Minogue best!don't listen to every crap some "enlighted" guy makes, just because it's progressive...(sorry if i have offended someone, as unkle Frank would say)

Maddog

No need to apologise for having insulted anyone. Anyone who types such nonsense about VDGG can not be taken seriously ;)

'H To He' is, to me, VDGG's joint best alongside 'Pawn Hearts'- both are amongst the darkest, bleakest yet most wonderful prog albums ever made. However, all VDGG albums are extremely great and rewarding.

Yes, a great album! Pretty dark and sad sounding, but beautiful.

BTW, all the old posts in this thread break off... does that happen to all old threads?
