It is ineresting to know what album by great Peter Hammill is favourite among visitors of the forum. I can't choose only one. For me:

Chameleon - best in melodies but lacks in production. In some ways it's even good

In camere - best prog album of all time

Over - best in emotions. Did you hear anyting like this one?

As prog album I prefere by far "Nadir's big chance" than the mediocre "In camera"...but my favorite Hammill album remains "Fools mate". This one is very intense emotionnaly and more poppy than the others. It's the first one I purchased and it's still my fav.

I really like Silent Corner and The Empty Stage. I believe it's the most symphonic Peter solo albums and a sort of VDGG lost album.

I didn't vote, as I have only heard "Over". I think it was ok. What do you think about his album released under Fripp's DGM?

You mean Everyone You Hold - it's one of the best of his later albums, imho.

A Black Box is the one I return to most, though everything up to that point is excellent. I'm not so familiar with all of his more recent solo albums, but What, Now? is well up to standard.

You definitely have to listen to "The Fall of the House of Usher". It is a rather strange album, but then it is a strange, dark, and gothic story, and so is the album.
