Maybe we should treat PA as a pub?

Hopefully not......I love reading all this stuff, although I choose to keep my opinions to myself and keep spinning the music Big smile

Why should we? Beliefs are a part of what makes you an individual, and we can't take that away from you.

Mr Barney, if you know you're not going to like an album where Neal Morse is a principal songwriter why do you spend the amount of time needed to absorb the music and then the time to write a review? Personally I wouldn't waste the time on listening to it in the first place more than the amount needed to get a feel for it.

For the record I'm in the same place and simply avoid his albums.

I haven't posted a lot here lately but wanted to at least take a second to answer this question, why does Rob (Barney) take the time to absorb and listen to the music.  This guy loves new symphonic prog, trust me when I say this, he took the time and bought the CD because he wants to love it.  He is a huge fan of all things symphonic.  He is a very knowledgeable person and one could say insanely passionate about the genre.

His writing style is flamboyant to say the least but this is a man that truly bought this CD with the hopes of loving it.

I'm another atheist and I agree, he's clearly got a proselytism agenda way past highlighting the content of the lyric. Not helpful. He's lost me.

The reviewers criticize the artists, but who criticizes the reviewers?

No.   Nor is it necessary to assert that reviews must be well-written, which is usually my big complaint.   Who are we kidding.   In many ways this is a teaching-hospital as much as it is an archives.   To be honest, we'd probably miss everyone and their writing whatever pops into their heads.

The original intent of the site ~ an open exchange of ideas and opinions with a firm but tolerant rule enforcement system ~ should still be valued and protected.   I just get a little fed up with the review content once and awhile, but I should do what I usually do:  shut-up about it and just do my thing.
