Good to see you Dave!
The Dead C | Repent — classic instrumental noise rock from Nu Zealand Oh Oh Ecstasy | RIP OOX — final album from my online friend’s band, just released, and a real doozy. Great dreampoppy postpunk music. Ends with the most noisy, intense track I’ve ever heard from him. King Crimson | The Night Watch (live ‘74) — such a polite, quiet audience. Fine performances. Fracture! VR Sex | Human Traffic Jam — recent postpunk-inspired release, interesting stuff Steve Miller Band | Your Saving Grace — classic pre-Joker SMB. Yes, once they were really wonderful. Chinaboise | The Greatest Story Ever Told — pre-MX-80 project (not a band exactly), lots of goofing around on a 4-track. Rich Stim is the man behind this - he later was the vocalist for MX-80 and he never fails to crack me up. Julian Cope | Self Civil War — brand new! And his best album in a long time. Wow. Lots of Mellotron even. (Prog fan baiting, sorry) Todd Rundgren | Initiation — just found on CD after owning the vinyl for decades. This is definitely a Todd album you don’t want on vinyl. I could finally listen to the extended suite on side 2 and actually hear it like it’s supposed to be heard. It’s 36 minutes long and that’s just too much for one side of vinyl. Always sounded like sh*t until now. Edited by HolyMoly - February 01 2020 at 16:53 |

Just three albums in the last few days: Laurent Thibault - Mais On Ne Peut Pas Rêver Tout Le Temps (Magma related album, the production is similar but the music is very different, quite soothing. I very much liked the acoustic guitars with accented fretless bass (played by Francis Moze).) Harmonium - Les Cinq Saisons Maneige - Les Porches |

Good call on the Thibault album. It’s a lovely work - goes down your ear canals like a milkshake goes down your esophagus. |

^Oh boy you’ve got one of those new Floyd archival releases. I am absolutely bummed out about completely forgetting about them when I ordered cd’s this friday
![]() Now I have to wait until next month! Nuts. The Trans album from Neil is one of the only ones missing from my collection. Is it good? I have been connecting my little XDuoo dap to my tube amp for a long while, only really spinning vinyl and cd over the stereo..and my apartment is anything but soundproof, so music almost needs to go down over headphones if I want to crank my weird sh*t ![]() ![]() Hmm let’s see: Loosense - Saloon (Close to being AOTY for me. These guys absolutely nail the difficult balance between chops and feel in a genre such as jazz-rock. Their passion and pure thrill whilst playing literally jumps out of the record. It’s that good) Cocteau Twins - Blue Bell Knoll (Lately it’s been my go-to Cocteu album. Just something very fluid and serene about the whole thing..and I really like how ‘blue’ the soundscapes sound like) Embryo - Father, Son & Holy Ghosts (Quite possibly my favourite Embryo studio album...until the next time I spin Rocksession of course!) Deep Purple - Deep Purple (I love and prefer this leg of the group to anything that came after. This album in particular is just brilliant. Love Paice’s drumming during those early years) Grobschnitt - Solar Music Live (Fantastic headphone music! My HE500 got the job of playing this and it was truly goosebumps city) Kraftwerk - Trans Euro Express (I haven’t listened to the more wellknown electronic phase for a while as I slightly prefer the early Krautrock albums...but man this listen was sweet! Cold and clinical yes...but also beautiful in a mosaic and serene kind of manner) Herbie Hancock - Thrust (Head-Hunters pt 2...and it’s not a letdown) COS - Viva Boma (One of my fave Canterbury albums with a slight touch of the more melodic side of RIO...think Stormy Six level) Bruno Pernadas - those who throw objects at the crocodile will be asked to retrieve them (Exotic styled pop with everything from synths and clever indie-rock to Carribean themes) King Crimson - Islands (I love this record..I just have a bizarre habit of forgetting about it) Jorge Palma - Acto Contínuo (Classy, funky, warm, melodic, incredibly well-played and well-written art-rock from Portugal. I am really smitten by this guy. Again thanks Samuel) Atomic Rooster - In Hearing Of (Must’ve been over ten years since I last heard this one. Hot damn it rocked my socks off! Vincent Crane is an often overlooked keys man, but boy can he play like the best of em. That hammond organ ![]() Camel - Camel (Perhaps my fave from the band. I love how fluid the whole album sounds...like a river) Beach Boys - Smiley Smile / Wild Honey (Hah! It’s been a while since an album (or two to be more precise) has made me laugh this hard. Just the general loopiness of Brian Wilson that seems to beam out of the recording. I am completely hooked on the track Vegetables! Gotta get that crunch into the song. Also some really great song-songs like in merely well-written songs with beautiful chord shifts and those inventive BB vocals) Next up is In The Court Of The Crimson King ![]() Edith because of Danish autocorrect ![]() Now listening to Love’s Forever Changes ![]() Edited by Guldbamsen - February 09 2020 at 12:39 |

Dave!! Hey my good man. Yup. The coffee has been brewing via French press this past weekend. My son has been so kind to my musical needs lately. Been putting on Klaus Schulze’s Mirage and Kontiium. Vangelis’s Soil Festivities and the Metroid prime video game soundtrack has been an Ace in the hole to get my son to count sheep. ![]() Life is good and my weekend has been very plentiful with my headphones. Anyhow. Great advice, Dave. You are a true friend. ![]() |

Made some awesome music purchases lately and been enjoying them immensely.
Marillion— The Singles “82-88” 12CD set— so I tried to stay up and plow through the whole set. Got too exhausted, however I hammered down 7 of 12 discs. Beautiful material. Cavalera Conspiracy— Psychosis ( holy god is this ever good!! This is what modern Sepultura wishes it could be!! Highly recommend fellas. Great thrash metal. Stevie Wonder— Talking Book (hi Res blu ray Audio.) — superstition is a badass track and the recording of this album is so wonderful. The harmonies and vocals are so pure. No auto tune bullsh*t. Just lovely and pure music come to life. |

Dave, it is about time I gave Stevie real shot. ![]() I found myself humming “ baby!! Everything is alright, uptight!!” Then thought to myself, ‘ why do I not own a shred of Stevie wonder material I wonder ![]() ![]() So, I pulled the trigger on getting his definitive collection and “ Talking book in blu ray audio. ‘ And now maybe I should by innervisions next. ;) |
