^ After fast reading the reviews I think "The Zodiac - Cosmic Sounds" suits more to MORT GARSON discoraphy than to V/A. At least because he composed all music of the album.
If you, gentlemen, agree we can do the following: 1. Move the entry with 5 reviews (https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=24273) from V/A to MORT GARSON's page. 2. Ask Matti to repost his review (now the sole review of MORT GARSON's album) to this "new" entry. 3. Ask Admins to delete the album https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=77858 Do you like the idea? |

The 1967 album "The Zodiac - Cosmic Sounds" is listed twice
As a collaboration of Various Artists: https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=24273 And specifically under main man Mort Garson: https://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4798 Not sure if this is something that gets tidied up or a case where its appropriate to list an album twice. |

^ I'm trying to remember the old dicussion. It seems when I wrote "splits are different beasts" I meant that splits are releases with some tracks recorded by one band and some by another band, without any collaboration with each other, for example when side 1 of the LP is by the band X and side 2 by the band Y.
Anyway let's wait for admins' response before changing something.

^ I can't remember why I said "Obviously splits are different beasts". Obviously I'm inconsistent and memory stopped serve me well.
![]() Now I tend to "kill 'em all" (i.e. delete all "excessive" entries). And I even asked Greg to delete this one http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=81069 (and he already did it). From the other hand, points like this
make sense. Sent one more message to Greg and asked admins to decide what's to be done with splits. ![]() Edited by NotAProghead - June 03 2023 at 21:39 |

^^^ I believe it should stay only in Liquid Sound Company discography. We may also add a link to this album in HERD OF INSTINCT page.
Otherwise no consistency. We have lots of collaborative albums on PA, but they belong only to the band (artist) listed first.

Why is there such a problem? It's a collaboration between two bands. I've seen such a situation before a couple of years back. Not quite a duplicate entry. A duplicate entry is an error. These two were deliberately posted like that. I guess the admins will decide what to do here.

Do we really need this album to be listed twice under two different artists?

^ I think both requests were forgotten, sorry about that.
First of all, both "correct" entries are now updated.
About deletion, those are tricky, because of reviews. Both reviwers (zeb1981 and Heart of the Matter) were contacted and asked to move their reviews on the right entries. Now let's wait a bit. |

Nektar seems to have another duplicate entry.
There are 3 nearly identical releases of "Greatest Hits Live" by Nektar. The other 2 release titles are "Nearfest 2002 (Studio M Recording)" and "Live At The Patriots Theater". The "Nearfest 2002 (Studio M Recording)" seems to be an unofficial release as well. I believe that both "Nearfest 2002 (Studio M Recording)" and "Live At The Patriots Theater" should be removed. I have also updated "Greatest Hits Live". CD One (71:39) 1. A Tab in the Ocean (16:47) 2. Desolation Valley (8:59) 3. Remember the Future (Part One) (16:46) 4. Nelly the Elephant (7:12) 5. Man in the Moon (7:32) 6. It's All Over (7:04) 7. Now (7:19) CD Two (67:05) 1. Recycled (18:21) 2. A Day in the Life of a Preacher (12:37) 3. Remember the Future (Part Two) (19:46) 4. Crying in the Dark / King of Twilight (11:00) 5. Fidgety Queen (5:21) Total Time 138:44 Line-up: - Roye Albrighton / guitar, vocals - Allan "Taff" Freeman / keyboards - Mo Moore / bass, vocals - Ron Howden / drums - Larry Fast / synthesizer - Scott Krentz / percussion - Michelle Eckert / backing vocals - Maureen McIntyre / backing vocals - Mick Brocket / lighting Releases Information: Recorded at Patriots Theater, Trenton, NJ, USA, at the NEARfest 2002 Festival on 29 June 2002. 2CD The Store For Music - SFMCD270 (UK & Europe, 2014) [Live At The Patriots Theater] 2CD Classic Rock Productions - CRP1010 (UK. 2002) Progarchives (Greatest Hits Live) - https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=2744 Progarchives (Nearfest 2002 Studio M Recording) - https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=2743 Progarchives (Live At The Patriots Theater) - https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=46763 Discogs (Greatest Hits Live) - https://www.discogs.com/release/2508329-Nektar-Greatest-Hits-Live Discogs (Live At The Patriots Theater) - https://www.discogs.com/release/8082078-Nektar-Live-At-The-Patriots-Theater

^ Thanks, if so we can combine 2002 and 2011 releases.
But before doing this I have to ask the sole reviewer of 2011 album to repost his review on 2002 edition page. And only when he reposts it (I hope he will because he's an active user) I'll ask admins to delete 2011 entry.
