Talking of "Weirdings", I spent ages looking through the Top 10 Lists Forum for this old thread yesterday, only to discover it was posted in the Prog Music Lounge instead. Embarrassed

I have both of Astra's albums on CD. They're cosmic! Thumbs Up

I was planning to do a Top 20 list originally, but there were just too many great artists beginning with the letter "A", so it became a Top 30 by default, when I could easily have added another ten artists and albums to make it a Top 40 list. Smile

Asia Minor - Crossing the Line

I like also a lot Between Flesh and Divine, but I guess I'm most fond of Crossing the Line with its warmer sound and feel,
and being like more exotic.

Arena - own 7 albums. Favourite - The Visitor, which is a masterpiece of the highest order, though Contagion, Songs From the Lions' Cage, The Seventh Degree of Separation and the Unquiet Sky are all superb albums as well.

EDIT - having read the post I see that people are excluding them because there is only one album (so not a 'handful') . So the rules are that a band has to have at least x number of albums and that you own x at least?

The intent of this thread is to mention bands with at least a selection of albums under their belt, and preferably to pick the one you enjoy most from your collection.

It's important to remember that these kinds of topics become subjective and loosely followed because everyone's tastes and collections differ. I cannot fault anyone at this point bc it's a good exercise nonetheless.

I'm going to assume "handful" means three or more albums by one band...

A.C.T. - own 3 albums - favorite of these: Today's Report
After Crying - own 3 albums - favorite: 6
Airbag - own 5 albums - favorite: All Rights Removed
Alco Frisbass - own 3 albums - favorite: Alco Frisbass
Alma Sideris - own 3 albums - favorite: Il sole oltre le sbarre, parte 2
Anathema - own 3 albums - favorite: Falling Deeper
Anekdoten - own 7 albums - favorite: A Time of Day
Ange - own 5 albums - favorite: Au-delà du délire
Änglagård - own 3 album - favorite: Viljans öga
Anima Morte - own 4 albums - favorite: Face the Sea of Darkness
Anima Mundi - own 5 albums - favorite: The Way
Antethic - own 2 albums and 2 EPs - favorite: Ghost Shirt Society
Anyone's Daughter - 5 albums - favorite: Adonis
Apogee - own 5 albums - favorite: Endurance of the Obsolete
Arena - own 9 albums - favorite: Pride
Ars Nova - own 4 albums - favorite: The Goddess of Darkness
Artús - own 3 albums - favorite: Cerc
Asia - own 9 albums - favorite: Arena
Astra - own 3 albums - favorite: The Black Chord
Ayreon - own 10 albums - favorite: Into the Electric Castle

Edit: I'm not including the Alan Parsons Project in A. It should, and always should be filed under P. Every record store I've been to my entire life files it under P.

Here's 10 albums from 10 different bands, I remember enjoying, back in the day:

Arcturus: The Sham Mirrors
Anathema: Weather Systems
Adagio: Archangels In Black
Amaran's Plight: Voice In The Light
Ark: Burn The Sun
Abydos: A Little Boy's...
Angra: Temple Of Shadows
Arena: Immortal?
After Forever: After Forever
A.C.T: Today's Report
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
