It was recorded at Massey Hall in Toronto, I think a 3-night stand. Not sure about the over dubs comment. Exit Stage Left has a strange thing with the crowd noise, they reduced it to lessen the volume. They did make corrections on Exit where they thought it was needed due to mishap or simply bad playing on a song. Exit came out just before Signals so they were in the studio recording Signals as well making adjustments to Exit Stage Left tapes...I remember Geddy saying they had like 30-40 2" tape reels of live material they were going thru for Exit. To me both are great live albums, ATWAS is more raw sound and Exit is much cleaner....Both reached platinum status IIRC. |
