My favorite "hits" compilation 8-track when I was a youngun.
 Tell me there's not some great tunes on here - even an alternate extended "Call Me." Ktel may have been "cheesy," but I was young enough to love and appreciate these albums. |

I'm not familiar with all of the songs there, but there are definitely some good ones on there. My parents bought me the 1982 K-Tel album "Blast Off" for Christmas. It was the first rock album that I ever owned. Before that, I had a few Elvis records and Chipmunk Punk.

I think a great many of we American teens may have started our rock journeys with Ktel and FM radio. Although, certainly we had our AM transistor radios and pop music stations before that. |
