"This is a f**king star, I run it. I'm your boss." "You're Mr. Stevens?" "No, who is Mr. Stevens?" "He's head of catering." "I'm not head of catering. I am Vader, I can kill catering with a thought!"

How long have you been in France?
Wait, are you even still there?
My coming to France was a pure act of destiny's irony. I've never cared for French and I "knew" English is going to be my main help for a better life. My benchmate from highschool was big into French, and the only one in our class doing French and German; I was even teasing him for not learning a "real" language. And now the irony: he's in New-York working IT, while I'm in Paris. And I had nothing to do with it; they're really lacking doctors here, and when my girlfriend sent her CV, they called her next morning and at the end of the call she was hired. One month after we were here. Previously to that, she had applied for a job in the UK and missed it only because she got a 7 at the IELTS test, instead of a 7.5. We were pretty upset then and we were set on applying next year too. We didn't even expect someone from France even responding us, and look where it got us... We aren't applying for the UK anymore, that's for sure.
I didn't try to improve my French so far because what I know lets me get around with street talk, but as we decided to settle here I'll be applying for jobs this month, which means I need to improve my French pronto. Wish me luck!
