Wish you were here definitely, the best album of all times, and the
band's favorite. I personally prefer it mostly beacuse Wright's
presence is really strong in this one, and he is almost unheard on
Animals.

WYWH, sheer brilliance from beginning to end.
Animals has some fantastic moments, but it also gets a tad sparse and repetitive, IMHO

Thanks for the interesting responses so far folks! I said this could be close, and so it is turning out to be. Out of interest, although neither is my favourite Floyd album, I would certainly choose Wish You Were Here. It is more melodic, and more of a band composition. Also, I think Gilmour's playing is better on it. Animals is too angst-ridden, and lacks a little in the melodic region somehow. I also have trouble naming the individual tracks on it, if I don't listen to it for a while. I also think Rick Wright's contribution is far greater on Wish You Were Here. Still, it's all down to personal choice, as indeed it should be. Whichever album you vote for, it can't be right or wrong to do so! It just shows, like I always say, that all good bands have a number of albums the fans find it hard to choose from, because their levels of creativity are constant over a period of time. Far better to have such a glorious choice, than to have a band with one outstanding album, and the rest, at best, mediocre.

Wish You Were Here!! - Wonderful musicianship and possibly PF's best "sound-scape" album.
Animals is great too, but harder to listen to - as mentioned already very angst and difficult to distinguish the tracks from each other - still it is a PF masterpiece as is most of their albums.

I find Animals very conceptual and with most impressive musical passages... It's like listening to one single track... Hard to notice at first when a track ends and the other begins...
Don't get me wrong... It isn't that I find Wish You Where Here less conceptual than Animals... It is just that I love each song in the Animals album... But I also like WYWH, specially the tracks: Shine On You Crazy Dimond and Welcome To The Machine... They are a blast!
Why are this polls so hard...???

You´re not alone on that chessman. ...One advise for you. Listen to the album. The song that has PIGS sound effects is "PIGS", the one that has Sheep sound effects is "Sheep" and dogs has no effects on that regard.
You see,?, Pink Floyd had the same feeling about the album after it was finished. They didin´t know if they had recorded the same song three times or had lost two of the three they had recorded. So they decided to take these three tracks and put a different name for each.

Like a few others, I tend to alternate between which one I prefer...
but it's WYWH usually, so I went with that. I think SOYCD (all parts)
is the best thing PF's ever done.

Animals for me, as it has more spine tingling moments of brilliance. However WYWH is a nice consistent album that always sounds good whatever your mood. Its a lovely cosy armchair of an album!

This is a harder desision then choosing between the Wall and Dark side.
They're both great albums from Pink Floyd, I'll go with Animals.
