I voted other. I've always considered Introduzione and Impressioni di Settembre as one song - hell it's the same chords and melody and there's nothing distinguishing them apart. Anyway that start to PFM's career is one of sheer and utter musical bliss. I love that song. |
Definitely agree. I can think of a few more RPI essnetial openers, Maxophone would be one of them.

Your schools that do not teach

Walk on by
The minds that won't be reached

The emptiness that's you inside

From the list, Astronomy Domine' -- it set the agenda for the next few Floyd albums to follow, up until, oh, Animals I guess.
From outside this list, maybe "Father Cannot Yell", one of my favorite CAN songs and a great opening for their debut.
Or perhaps "Wild and Exciting" from Earth and Fire's debut. Still one of their best songs ever.
"Marathon" from Kayo Dot, perhaps? Talk about a mindblower. It's probably outside of the chronological scope of this poll, but I'll mention it anyway just to see the Kayo Dot fans drool.
Maybe "Solar Musick Suite" by Steve Hillage - the opener from Fish Rising, and possibly his definitive song.

I love Beyond and Before, The Barbarian and Giant but I'll vote Finding My Way since it probably won't get much votes

Slow Yourself Down, Giant, and Kobaia are close. Hmm, I guess I'll vote Kobaia now, but that could change.
For others my top 3 would be
1. Space Shanty - Khan
2. Diana - Comus
3. Race: In - Battles

Other. Definitely "Long live man dead" by Gnidrolog...a real gem, unique and kind of "creepy" sound...
