I voted VDGG because I can't stand the Peter Hamill vocals ... I have tried Pawn Hearts and some others but I have failed to appreciate the acclaimed mr. Hamill on vocals.. sorry for that, fellow progheads ..

definitely an acquired taste hahaha... oddly enough though... Hamilll
is the reason why I like them as I do... musically... ehhhh....
not bad but nothing in general that keeps me up at night.
I voted Zappa... for what is in essence a complement... his work
is so OUT THERE.. not to mention VAST....that it really as a whole is
beyond my tolerance.. though certain albums like Apostrophe, and Freak
Out.. would have to be taken from me at gunpoint and only then from the
clutches of my cold..dead.. fingers....

For some strange reason, the first track I heard by them was A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers. And I actually liked it.
Ever try listening to that song in the middle of the night? Scary stuff.

Ahh yes, that is a toenail curler. Oddly enough, while mesmerising, It doesn't put me in a down mood.

You just chose the most popular "unpopular choice" in the end because you didn't want to seem like a freak, right? "One of us, gooble gobble. One of us, gooble gobble."

I know (almost) nothing about Kansas, Rush and Frank Zappa. So, I can't speak about them. From the rest -- I'm not a big liker of Camel and Genesis, but ELP will get my vote. There has been a time I liked them, but that time has gone. What's left? Gentle Giant -- I like them. Yes -- I like them too, despite the Jon Anderson's voice and his manner of singing. Jethro Tull is one of my big three (together with King Crimson and...) ...and the most favourite is Van der Graaf Generator...
