Nick and Samuel:
Yeah taking your music outside is a welcome change - at least for my part. It can also help with albums I previously haven’t had the biggest succes with...yet with a view of trees and bushes I find that some music just goes down a lot easier.
I too mostly use iems when outside. I am a volcano type of guy who is always melting stuff in my vicinity. Add a couple of headphones when I’m out for a stroll and it quickly becomes a wet helmet of sound.
Samuel: music can actually work similarly to doping when used during sports. It’s as if the mind almost forgets how hard it is and just seeps into this wonderful state, where running/cycling nearly feels like meditation....and perhaps most importantly: isn’t half as hard as when you’re not listening to music.
Sounds of nature? I often have seagulls on my windowsill
Yesterday:
Eloy - Time To Turn
Sound Of Blues - Schizofrenia
Simple Minds - Empires & Dance
Perfect Beings - Vier
Phideaux - Infernal
Ukandanz - Awo
Elephant9 - Psychedelic Backfire ll
Tonton Macoute - s/t
Traffic - s/t
Vangelis - Earth
Vangelis - Blade Runner

^ When running particularly I start following the music rhythm, instead of my own pace, and become exhausted in no time, especially if it's in 11/8 LOL

It used to happen more in previous spins so maybe it's just a matter of time before I fully connect to the album, one other thing that doesn't help is that the album is very long.
For now my favorite tracks are the first couple.

Isildurs Bane - Off The Radar
National Health - Playtime
Zopp - Zopp
Abus Dangereux - Le Quatrieme Mouvement
Archaia - S/T
I don't have a problem with soft albums either but they definitely had to spice things up to keep our attention and I believe it's more a matter of production than composition. It's maybe why I liked those Zeuhl-ish tracks in the middle more, at least I didn't doze off on them.

Nice IB review, by the way. I've been meaning to check them out for a while, I missed their concert with Peter Hammill last year and ended up forgetting about them Embarrassed

Never heard of Abus Dangereux (always curious about French and Italian names). How's their music?

Renk - Kıyı (Turkish Floydian chill vibes)
Ryan Mark Elliot - Between a Disillusion and a Resolution
Can - Saw Delight (Had the CD sitting on a pile for a couple of weeks in quarantine :P I guess it makes a good background listen but not much else. It's quite bland and directionless. I think I like the next two more.)

Another great band to discover although I think only their first album is worth having released in 1980 or 81'.
The music is jazzy and light but still progressive they also hold a lot of zehul characteristics like vocals and that deep bass sound, overall the music is excellent with tight performance and brilliant ideas. Quite a short album but definitely worth checking out.

Rina Sawayama - Sawayama: British pop artist that mixes R&B, dance pop, rock and metal in rather unique ways. I find it pretty cool in a scatterbrained sort of way.

Ad Infinitum - Chapter 1: Monarchy: A colon in the title...screws up the way I write my blurbs. Female-fronted symphonic metal.

Suffocation - Breeding the Spawn: I'm thinking the engineer on this album was such a jazz fan that he decided "I don't care if this is brutal technical death metal or whatever they call it, as far as I'm concerned, EVERYTHING IS JAZZ!" Hence the ridiculous production.

Wings - Red Rose Speedway: Probably the most Beatles sounding album post Beatles, but with a strong focus on their goofier stuff. But there's "Loup (1st Indian on the Moon)" on this. That's something else.

Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti: I always dug "The Wanton Song". One of my fav Zep tunes. A real groover, even if I do think of wonton soup.

Debbie Gibson - Out of the Blue: I was in the mood for some real 80's teen-trash, and Debbie never lets me down in that department.

Tiffany - Tiffany: Another 80's teen-trash classic, what's interesting is just how inept everything in this album is. Production, singing, the pop-rock numbers, the Beatles cover, it's almost amazing how cheap and dumb this sounds, but it made bank. The power of red hair.

Alice Merton - Mint: She sang "No Roots" with that unstoppable hook. She sang other stuff too, according to this album.

The Police - Synchronicity: "Mother" is such a classic, always a great one to bust out when someone asks for a Police song at a cookout. That request doesn't happen all that much anymore though.

The Isley Brothers - It's Our Thing: FUNK.

Black Sabbath - Master of Reality: DOOM.

GFOTY - GFOTYBUCKS: PANTS.

^ I never returned to the ATOE album since the AOTY listing. I'll have to give it a fresh listen.

Last week:
Isildurs Bane - Off the Radar (Fantastic album, I really liked those complex electronic textures with Jazz elements and incredible build-ups.)
Malady - Toinen Toista
P'Cock - Burning Beach (Berlin School meets Alan Parsons sums it up nicely.)
Abus Dangereux - Le Quatrième Mouvement (Had to listen to it right after reading your description, Sagi. Loved it!)
Edition Spéciale - Aliquante (The previous album reminded me of checking this one, similar but more on the Funky side)
Todd Terje - It's Album Time
Ulls - Anoia s'apodera
