I voted for Fly on the Windshield as well. I do however consider it part
of the impending track but no matter. Personally, and speaking from a
drummer's point of view, I really dig the feel and the rumbling nature
of Collins' playing on this. He sounds like a man possessed with the
power of an angry lumberjack, when he first joins in: BRRRRWWWOOOUUN. I
simply love that track.

Phil is a monster on that track. His approach to the Rhythm is astonishing, especially live; you can really feel the power. Honestly, that's like one of my
many air drumming tracks. I love it.

Back In NYC
a sort of precursor to punk rock. Collins 'stop start' drumming is very unnatural but quite brilliant. PG is right in his element and a sign of things to come from his solo career.

There are so many LLDOB songs to love and enjoy, but I can listen to The Lamia over and over many times in a row without it getting old to me. So, I guess that is why I "prefer" it to any others...

I was stuck between In The Cage, Fly On a Windshield, and The Grand Parade of Lifeless Packaging. Then I remembered Counting Out Time. Though I've never been a big fan of this album.

Once a very good friend of mine and myself were with our at-that-time girlfriends at my friends place, we were 20 years old or so so it was probably around 1985.
At some point each couple went into a room to make love, and we left The Lamb playing, I think it was a 120 cassette tape because we did not have to go flip the LPs.
We were both busy with our business, but when Back In NYC started to play we both started singing out loud, and hearing eachother we both stopped what we were doing and came out of our rooms to meet in the living room, both singing and airdrumming, naked and with a hard on, while our girlfirends were left overwhelmed in the rooms.
It was really an epic sight and experience, our girlfriends got to know us and this was not the only similar wacky episode but this one in particular I will never forget

There is lambswool under my naked feet The wool is soft and warm Gives off some kind of heat A salamander scurries into flame to be destroyed Imaginary creatures are trapped in birth On celluloid
Sorry. I just felt like singing.

God such a beautiful song beginning... I know there's a lot of good modern prog but, honestly, few can match this.

The idea of hovering like a fly waiting for the windshield on the freeway is what gets my vote.

It is one whole story, but there are 23 songs in it. One can say which part of the story is his/her favorite, though.
