The selections in the poll series are collected from the Rate Your Music all-genres/all-time music chart, and I have included only ones that are in Prog Archives Prog categories other than the Spirit which is in Proto-Prog (was not going to skip it when I saw it in the chart). The numbers beside the albums show the chart position at RYM. Please vote for a favourite and mention that and any others that you find particularly notable in a post.

Savatage - Edge of Thorns (1998)
Miles Davis - Black Beauty: Miles Davis at Fillmore West -- recorded April 10, 1970 and released in 1973 (2002)
Picchio dal Pozzo - Picchio dal Pozzo (2008)
Tori Amos - From the Choirgirl Hotel (2021)
Magma - Üdü Ẁüdü (2036)
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso - Io sono nato libero (2042)
Ground-Zero - Last Concert (2051)
Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus (2069) Included in Proto-Prog, but this was a must
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells (2080)
Kate Bush - The Sensual World (2090)
Marillion - Misplaced Childhood (2091)
Anna von Hausswolff - Live at Montreux Jazz Festival (2096)
Gong - You (2098)
Riverside - Second Life Syndrome (2099)
Cardiacs - A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window (2101)
Ulver - Perdition City (2108)
Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness (2114)
Masada - Live in Sevilla 2000 (2117)
Nine Inch Nails - Still (2123)
Anathema - Judgement (2135)
Sparks - N° 1 in Heaven (2155)
Gentle Giant - Free Hand (2158)
The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us Is the Killer (2179)
Area - Arbeit macht frei (2183)
Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte (2185)

-----------------------------------------

This vote is another hard one and quite arbitrary, my top ten are:

Gong - You
Picchio dal Pozzo - S/t
Area - Arbeit macht frei
Cardiacs - A Little Man and a House & the Whole World Window
Magma - Üdü Ẁüdü
Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus
Anna von Hausswolff - Live at Montreux Jazz Festival
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso - Io sono nato libero
Gentle Giant - Free Hand
Kate Bush - The Sensual World

Also like Tubular Bells, Ulver, and Green Carnation.

It's between the Gong, PdP and Area for me today, and I'm voting Picchio dal Pozzo partially since I think it has been a long time since I voted for that and not so long for the others.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Oh, that's a difficult choice, but went for MO > Riverside > Anthema

Such a close call between Magma and Area.

Will go the latter this time.

Marillion, Riverside or Gentle Giant is the question. All wonderful albums.
Going with Riverside on this occasion.

We have seen quite a bit worse lists than this one at this point.
I'll narrowly prefer the Cardiacs album to a number of others that I love as well such as Picchio dl Pozzo, Tori Amos, Magma, Banco, Mike Oldfield, Kate Bush, Gong , and Area. Probably Tubular Bells and The Sensual World are closest to being voted.

Mr. Hackett - the best Genesis album never made - followed by Marillion and Mike Oldfield.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

I haven't thought of myself as an optimist, an idealist yes, but I really am more of a glass half full kind of person. All of the lists have had albums I loved, and none that I can recall that had albums I considered bad, so to me all of the lists have been good-for-me even though some have had more albums I love and like than others. I don't tend to think of which is worse with the lists, more, if I think about it, which is more excellent per my tastes and per what I know, but then I tend to focus more on the albums in the list I love than the overall quality of the list (a smaller picture view). A lot have had albums that I have not heard, and ones of styles I never really got into, so I couldn't judge the quality.

Even though I'd rather the focus be on those that ones likes since I do prefer positivity generally (I most appreciate realism), it would be interesting to hear about the albums that are not necessarily bad (taste and all that), but didn't work for people in the lists.

One thing I like about these lists is that they do go outside of my wheelhouses, tastes and knowledge, and can appeal to a diverse audiences than if I were to just list my favourites. I like the variety that comes from the method if collecting rather than choosing the albums for the list from the chart (though I did leave of some in PA like various pre-JRF jazz albums and some archival releases purposefully even if I like those).
