Sebastian Hardie's debut and Symphininty by Windchase. These two are the upper echelon of Aussie prog for me. *Before the advent of the internet that is*
Nota bene, they're pretty much the same band at the creative core with Mario Millo and Toivo Pilt doing the bulk of arrangement/songwriting in both SH and WC. ---- In the case of contemporary music, there's a much wider selection of Oz prog gems out there: Plini, Tame Impala, King Gizzard, Unitopia, Toehider et al. I can't help but draw a clear line separating the two periods of Australian industrialization for some reason. |
