Just finished season 2 of Dark Winds. About the Navajo Reservation cop and his cohorts. Excellent series.

I am quite enjoying Dexter Resurrection, better than New Blood. I haven't watched the prequel with young Dexter.
I shook my head and smiled a whisper knowing all about the place

I loved Jennifer Carpenter because she gave her character so many nuances... you could feel her contradictions.
But there couldn't have been a better young Debra Morgan than Molly Brown.

No problem, because I finished watching that episode just before connecting now! I was also sorry to see her character disappear because it was so much more than that. She's also very good at comedy.

Now I think the core of this new season has been revealed, and I also find a lot of meaning in it regarding the characters' pasts.

I hope they continue with the Young Dexter sequel, which was on the same level.

Finished season 2 of The Sandman. It seems there will be no more of this series - a shame as it's a great watch.

I didn't see the third season of Twin Peaks, I liked the first one more than the second, there is consensus that what ruined the suspense was revealing the mystery of Laura Palmer.

Now I'm watching the latest Dexter sequel (Resurrection), I really liked the original series, quite original in some aspects, and the first sequel (Dexter New Blood) and prequel (Dexter Original Sin) are very worthy, as the same team is involved (the creator is Clyde Phillips, who revolutionized TV in the '90s with Parker Lewis).
For me, there's been a new generation of series in recent decades, with continuity, cinematographic work, not only in terms of aesthetics but also in the scripts, the content, which is the most important thing. Seinfeld already showed the cutting edge with an ending planned perhaps from the very beginning of the series. And years later, The Sopranos would be a step further in the world of the mafia, after Scorsese and Tarantino.

So far, Dexter's new story is a bit strange...but we'll see how it evolves (or not.)

My very last is a Harlan Coben short (5 episodes). Not bad but has some inconsistencies. Before I've watched the whole of Yellowstone starting from the prequels. 1883 is the only one that really deserves some time. The others have good characters and excellent actors but the story is quite poor.
A mention goes to Faith Hill, a good pop singer who I didn't expect to be a so good actress.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

^ When I re-watched Game of Thrones I was astounded how much I'd missed or didn't grasp the first time.   I've now seen the whole series at least five times.   I'd highly recommend to anyone they watch it multiple times, it is truly a show that keeps on giving.

^ That's proper fandom. I've never watched anything 3 times and only a small handful of shows 2 times:
GOT
Blake's Seven
Survivors (TOS)
UFO

The Sandman season 2 - The first season was excellent and this new offering is continuing in the same vein. It's not as polished as the first series and feels a bit more forced, but a decent watch nonetheless - I'm only 3 eps in so far though.

The Couple Next Door Season 2
I suppose this should be filed under 'guilty pleasures', it's proper trashy stuff for sure, a suburban based thriller about a couple of bored doctors who find some relief from every day mundanity with a pretty young foreign nurse who embeds (and beds!) herself into their lives. The twists in the plot are insane but at just 6 episodes it works perfectly well as throwaway no brain required fluff. If you want something serious don't watch this!

Duster - Season 1
I don't even know where to start with this. Leave it to the 2020s to suck the fun out of the '70s. Mercifully cancelled before the planned season II.

The Terror - Season 1
I love historical dramas, and this is a great story that I wish had been pursued with just the realism rather than the supernatural direction they went. Still pretty good, still well done, though pretty depressing at the same time. A bit like Black Sails I suppose, but Black Sails was richer with more places to go.

The Veil
This is something of a homage to the well trodden British spy genre and stars Elizabeth Moss as a MI6 agent with an over ripe English accent who can 'girl boss' it with the best. Moss makes the most of a role that she would never have been in line for say 10 years ago, glamming up effectively while kicking the asses of several bad guys as they cross her pass. It's enjoyable if somewhat brutal, writer Steven Knight even entering the minefield of Middle eastern politics at times. Overall it's a load of entertaining well written nonsense. 7/10

Reacher   season 3

Though a slow start, this third season based on Lee Child's series of books featuring his irreverent & hardnosed ex-MP investigator Jack Reacher, portrayed with nuance by Alan Ritchson, develops into a more interesting and emotionally complex action/drama than the first two excellent seasons.   Brimming with indifference and a desire to just be left alone, Reacher of course finds himself swept up in an off-the-books DEA operation run by three hotshot but mismatched agents who increasingly need his help in taking down a ruthless drug smuggler.   As Reacher becomes close to one of the smuggler's sons, his mentorship of the boy grows and when he discovers a young girl is being held hostage, all bets are off.

We're watching a Dutch/Flemish TV show on Ch4 called Arcadia. A scifi set in an alternative reality, people live by their scores - the higher their score the better they are treated and the lower obviously it's pretty crap (actually sounds a good way of doing things lol). A family's father is sent to the 'outside' for frigging his daughters' scores and it follows his wife and 4 daughters as they try to figure what's going on. It's actually quite good, but an offer from Netflix to globalise it was turned down so there wasn't a lot of cash. Also filmed in lockdown so not many extras. But oddly these issues actually lend the show a rather grim, empty and quite depressing feel to it. I like it and there is a second series too. 7.5/10
