Wilson Project are a young Italian progressive rock band.
The four members, who are on average 21 years old, have met over the years until they arrive at
their current project.
In addition to working on original music, the link with Italian prog music was tightened from the
start, so much so that every single facet is captured in their work. That is how they began a work
of study and live performance of songs taken from the first two albums of PFM, a band of great
influence, which led them to have the opportunity to perform with Giorgio "Fico" Piazza, historical
bassist and founder of the Premiata Forneria Marconi. Over time they have also approached the
shores of English progressive rock, performing the live covers of two other bands of their most
recent reference such as Genesis and ELP.
In August 2022, they opened the concert of the New Trolls, one of the most famous Italian
progressive rock bands, during their tour.

In July 2022, their concept album IL VIAGGIO DA FARSI was released for Ma.Ra.Cash Records as their debut album.
Inspired by the launch of Elon Musk's Falcon Heavy, it tells the story of a woman who leaves
Earth and her loved ones to go to Mars. She will try to make up for the lack of her world,
rebuilding a copy on the new planet, but finding that sometimes the imperfection of reality is more
fulfilling than the inert excellence of his replica.

A journey not only physical but also psychological, an inner struggle between nostalgia and
enthusiasm for the new.

Wilson Project is an Italian progressive rock band that combines the atmosphere of the 70s with a modern and personal sound. The members of the band are four musicians with a deep passion for both Italian and international prog, and they have developed a style that combines tradition and innovation.

Over the years, the band has built a rich artistic journey, establishing a strong connection with Italian prog music. In addition to working on original material, they began studying and performing songs from the early albums of PFM - one of their greatest influences, along with Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. This led them to perform with Giorgio "Fico" Piazza (ex-PFM). Over time they also embraced the sounds of British progressive rock, incorporating live covers of Genesis and ELP, the other two major influences of their recent work.

During the years they have opened for important and historic Italian prog bands such as New Trolls (in 2022 and 2024), Le Orme (2024), Osanna (2024) and for Premiata Forneria Marconi (2025).
In September 2022, they also won the Critics' Award at the PEM Festival, with special mention from the artistic direction. Later, in March 2023, they won the Intervallo...Prog contest, and in September 2023 they played as opening act at the 2Days Prog + 1 festival in Veruno, one of the most prestigious international prog festivals.

In July 2022 they released their debut album Il Viaggio da Farsi (distributed by Ma.Ra.Cash Records), a concept album that narrates the story of a journey to Mars, portraying the conflicting emotions of a woman who leaves the Earth in search of a new beginning, exploring the border between reality and
illusion.

Their second album, Atto Primo, released in March 2025 and distributed by Ma.Ra.Cash Records, is their tribute to opera, reinterpreting its theatricality and emotional intensity through the language of progressive rock. Each track is dedicated to a famous opera and composer, reworking elements of the operatic tradition into a fresh, innovative form. The album blends the band's signature expressive freedom with the dramatic atmospheres of musical theatre, inviting listeners to discover its references while evoking emotion and leaving room for the imagination.
