   I hate the way the mainsteam critics call prog prenentious or overblown.Dont they understand that lame or not progressive rock is trying to raise the bar and judging from what they call music these days that bar needs to be raised a long ways.I know they play that crap at my healthclub and it makes my inards quiver with horror.I think the average Americam music fan likes it stupid or is just me.

	...ressive. I have read countless reviews that thinks that the music is ok but does not sound like a godforsaken album a band made 20 years ago. Forexample i read a review of octavarium that said that dream theater should make music like they did in the ytse jam days. What would be the point of that? I think the whole idea of a progressive rock band would be to be exacctly progressive and try new stuff instead of just making music exactly the same way. Ofcourse they need to keep some of their identity from each album so the stuff you like you will also get on the next album. I just think it is very irritating with people that just want a new album great in every way to sound like the old albums they made long time ago. I just dont get the point, a progressive band needs to move they need to grow up and they need to make new sounding music or else it would have gotten dull.
