I can't believe Klaus isn't getting any love. Personally I feel this was his best period. He made the "coffee-trilogy" ( Blackdance, Picture Dream and Timewind all had those coffee brown Daliesque motifs on their cover)
and this one finishes it off beautifully. I love the way the music washes over me, and with Schulze you often feel as if he utilises the ocean itself to conjure up sound.

Klaus is only unlucky for being in a list like this
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

After listening to my four, I've decided I'm giving my vote SMM.

Found it ! I don't have this but it's on the 1983 compilation called "Works". So there's one official version of it at just under 5 minutes as you said Sagi.
Yep. I have this Works compilation.
I know Prog Archives only lists official releases so as Scott says, it's official.

I bought the Works album when it came out as a present and know that it's an official release, but since anyone can add albums, one can at times find unofficial releases/ bootlegs in the database.  They tend to get removed, but I expect that some, especially with rather lesser names, may slip through the cracks.  I think I remember some unofficial Italian Pink Floyd releases, and maybe Led Zep, being added before, but they were caught.

By the way, "Embryo" was first released on the Harvest Records various artists sampler Picnic -  A Breath of Fresh Air in 1970.

It's been so long since i've listened to this but i did give it 4.5 stars. I will listen to it tonight or tomorrow. Thanks Greg !

I must admit that I voted without listening to that album for some years.  I used to love it, but when I listened with half-an-ear since I was multi-tasking ( not a  great way for me to listen to  lot of music unless I pretty much know it by heart), again last night it didn't appeal as much as it once did.  It even seemed rather "pedestrian prog" at times.  Maybe I wasn't really in the mood (my bent over the last year has been more towards Krautrock, and generally "progressive" music outside of PA, albeit Prog related).

Had I listened to all of these albums afresh, then I think Timewind would have got my vote (interesting that the two I most considered voting for would be voteless had I not voted for one of them).  Stil,l wasn't a favourite Schulze of mine.  Weidorje is great, but I overplayed it a bit.  The Present and UZ I really liked, but haven't listened to them for a long time.  Meddle has been one of my favourite Floyd's too, but I have difficulty paying it full-attention these years for some reason, and that SMM is very good, but not one I'm really in the mood for now.  Ricochet is reaaly gooid -- rather surprised it doesn't have more votes.

Okay quit tempting me to break out the wallet for newer versions of Floyd.LOL  It's been tempting enough already. Sort of like all the Zappa re-issues.
The good news is that all the fanatics who bought the 2011 remasters are now selling those and buying the new 2012 sets.  It's essentially the same remaster job, but in new packaging with some new material.  So I've been vulturing around the used shops and finding a lot of 2011 remasters in the bins there.

As we all know Floyd has released a lot of material the last few years and a lot of bonus material but i don't have any of those so i was just wondering if this was included in one of them. A shame if it hasn't been. My BBC Archives set i admit are pirate copies i got from Greg Walker from Tachika. It's a two disc affair wiith The Embryo, Fat Old Sun, Green Is The Colour, Careful With That Axe Eugene, If and Atom Heart Mother on disc one. The last track is 25 plus minutes. On disc two it's Fat Old Sun, One Of These Days, The Embryo, Echoes and Blues. Fat Old Sun is 15 minutes plus, The Embryo just under 10 minutes and Echoes at just under 27 minutes. The first disc is from July 1970 and the second September of 1971 and both are John Peel presentations.
Would love to have a legit copy of these live recordings but since the band seems to not be into it i don't feel guilty at all buying what's available.

They probably wouldn't have released Atom Heart at all if they hadn't been so desperate for material.  Lucky for us they did.

It's not good seeing so many excellent albums in the list and not being able to vote for all of them.

I have to vote for Meddle here, but Ricochet and Timewind belong to the best Progressive Electronic albums.
