Other:
- - - Hollow Years, off their Falling Into Infinity release. I think it's a good song, but it is nevertheless pretty "cheesy."

I don't consider any of their songs "cheesy." I never really liked the term.

One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

I never found 'Take Away My Pain' cheesey. In fact, it is one of the saddest songs I have ever heard. But it might not be that way if you don't know what it is about. It is the sequal to the song 'Another Day', which tells the story of John Petrucci's father fighting cancer. When he died, John wrote 'Take Away My Pain'.

The good cop and the bad cop left for the day. I'm a different kind of cop.

when the drums come in, OMG! so much cheese I need a whole box of crackers. Just imagine labrie in a big room full of candles singing that silliness and Rudess accompanying him on a grand piano wearing a tuxedo.
other moments of cheese in that song:
the big dramatic key change
at the end when the girl's voice comes in but doesnt sing any words
|
IMO the key change in "I Walk Beside You" is even cheesier ...
