Felgrave is the one-man extreme progressive metal band of M.L. Jupe, a multi-instrumentalist currently based in Norway. Born in Adelaide, Australia, Jupe dabbled in black metal as Weaver with the now-defunct project Dead Hills, and was one-half of blackened thrash duo Geneshiva before relocating to Viken. Jupe - who handles guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals - cites 20th century classical, avant-garde 1990s death and black metal and 1970s symphonic prog as key influences on his atmospheric death-doom. Described by Jupe as "an exploration of the futility of existence in the face of the looming void," Felgrave self-produced and released their debut LP, A Waning Light, through Bandcamp in 2020, later reissuing it on limited edition CD the following year via Personal Records.

Jupe returned five years later, signing to Transcending Obscurity Records in early 2025 and issuing Felgrave's follow-up LP, Otherlike Darknesses, a few months later. Like the perfect fusion of Tchornobog, https://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=12600" rel="nofollow - Epitaphe , https://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=11982" rel="nofollow - Fleshvessel and https://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=8989" rel="nofollow - Thantifaxath , the album dialled up A Waning Light's progressive inclinations while embracing dissonant black metal. Unlike Felgrave's hermetic debut, Jupe recruited Australian musicians Brendan Sloan (of https://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=10766" rel="nofollow - Convulsing ) for mastering and drummer Robin Stone (of Norse, Ashen Horde and many others) in lieu of his usual programmed percussion.
