Subject: Eclectic music from the non-Western world

With this thread, I'd like to put some more focus on artists from the non-Western world which blend some non-Western traditional music with Jazz/Rock/Folk. I reckon that this categorization is rather loose, but my favourite albums and some examples are something like:
Osibisa (Africa) - Osibisa (1971) The "Gunesh" Ensemble (Turkmenistan) - Looking At The Earth (1984) Shankar (India) - Song for Everyone (1985) Moussa Diallo (Mali) - the-kékéliba-project (1999) Garbarek & Khan (India, Pakistan) - Ragas and Sagas (1992) Trilok Gurtu (India) - The Glimpse (1996) Bayuba Cante (int) - Cheba (2000) Lin Di & Cool Zone (China) - Ten Days in Magic Land (2003) Dhafer Youssef (Tunisia) - Electric Sufi (2001)

Hasan Hajdar - Zebi (Tajikistan)
This folk ballad has a certain mystical aura to it for some reason. It's very aetheral and uplifting but there's an element of sadness and solitude creeping in.
I kinda wish I understood Persian/Tajik so that I have some sense of what the lyrics are about. xd

OSIRIS If you think music from the Middle East is no great sheikhs, then think again, because this is the musical equivalent of a black gold oil strike in a barren desert. Take a Closer Look and check out the incredible sound of Osiris from the tiny desert kingdom of Bahrain, where prog is as rare as a Bar Mitzvah in Saudi Arabia. Shalom.

Crazy to think that Osiris failed to make a name for themselves, even just locally in Bahrain itself. They were and still are a pretty underground band.

The four first I could think of:
Rabih Abou-Khalil - Al-Jadida (Lebanon) (1991) Oriental Wind - Zikir (Turkey) (1979) Vasant Rai (with Oregon) - Spring Flowers (India) (1979) Ananda Shankar - And His Music (1975) (India)

I love Anoushka Shankar's Land of Gold, pretty much everything I heard by Rokia Traore, Seckou Keita. Fatou by Fatouwata Diawara is also great. Trilok Gurtu has his hands in an endless number of interesting projects.

As probably noticed by someones, I don't have any Progressive Rock on my mind with this thread, and a couple more of my favourites are:
Assagai (Africa) - Zimbabwe (1971) Lula Côrtes e Zé Ramalho (Brazil) - Paębirú (1975) Cold Fairyland (China) - Seeds On The Ground (2007)

A couple more which I'm very fond of:
Osamu Kitajima (Japan) - Benzaiten (1976) Erkin Koray (Turkey) - Elektronik Türküler (1974)
And here's one of the two title tracks from Kitajima's album:
