Since the beginning of the year I have been investigating the band Stubbs and keyboardist Kojiro Yamash*ta a little more. I have recently made a lot of progress when I managed to get answers from a record store in Japan about all of Kojiro Yamash*ta's projects, including Stubbs' first album. No offense to the musician if not, but is this AI? It just sounds like a complete copy of Canterbury prog but missing the soul. I'd forgotten the password for the account responsible for this thread. I'm not a frequent forum user, but to answer your question, all the releases I've gotten, whether "STUBBS," "CANTERBURILOGY," "ECTCT(C+T=G)," "ぢ Progressive," or "Atom Heart Little Brother," are all releases that were available on Third Ear, and some of them I've known about for a while. It's not AI, they're real releases. It's just that not many people are researching Kojiro Yamash*ta in depth, and I already suspected there were a lot of forgotten material. Apparently, in Japan, there are a lot of things that sit forgotten for years in record stores. Regarding the music sounding generic and uninspired, I must admit that this is typical of Yamash*ta's discography, with a few CANTERBURILOGY albums standing out. All projects outside of STUBBS have the added drawback of songs being played on digital keyboards and 80s drum machines. As far as I know, very few people have a STUBBS album, and I'm referring to the reissues. I only know of one cassette version, except for the online version of "The Idyll Party." I have a version of that album without the noise and MP3 compression of the available version. |

I know two people who have Yamash*ta albums. The collector I mentioned at the beginning of the thread and who helped me get these releases is Joe Paradiso. He's posted about "Atom Heart Little Brother" since 2016. This album is even in his archive, but with restricted access. All CDs releases are with him. And to reinforce, I have complete cover art and CDs for three "CANTERBURILOGY" and two "ぢ Progressive"/"TheGardMan" albums.

So this music is top secret then? The idyll party is a takeoff on WIRES Ideal copy. Atom heart little brother is from another mother. I think these two owners are indeed very fortunate to own yamash*ta recordings. And lucky to have you posting the only existing examples on the web. Not sure of the reason, not sure it matters. My goal with this has always been to archive releases, to prevent them from being forgotten. This is a real band. I reviewed the two albums just over a year ago. I have seen them on this site for the last 10 years or so and finally checked them out last year. They were cassette-only releases which is why nobody owns a copy. The most obscure of obscurities. I really wish someone would remaster them and give them a proper CD / digital / vinyl release.
