Hi Folks.

This is Tim Pepper, vocalist for The Id.

The Id has taken a little sabbatical but I am using this time to get another band off the ground called Quantum Silence. We are:
Drums, keyboards, 12-string guitar - Jonathan Oliver
Vocals, keyboards, programming, mixing and mastering: ME! lol

We released our debut album Timelines in April and you can find us on Bandcamp at https://quantumsilence.bandcamp.com/

We hope you like it!

Which sub genre do you feel would be most appropriate for your music, Tim?

After one quick listen to the debut album, I thought I heard quite a variety of styles. There is definitely a Neo Prog feel in places (which is where The Id is filed on PA), a psychedelic vibe in others, but I'm also hearing a more straightforward, alternative rock sound in other places, so I'm thinking maybe Crossover Prog would be the most appropriate?

Anyhow, if you could add the sub genre that you yourself think would be best into your topic title, it will help the team that looks after that sub to spot your suggestion and take it forward.

A bit more biographical info about how the project was formed, and some info about Jonathan's previous projects, would also be useful (I couldn't find any info about the bands Pomp and Toast anywhere), plus an image of the band that we could use on your eventual page (just a link to the image would suffice).

I found an image on https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=9923315711040404&set=a.204431009595638" rel="nofollow - Facebook which might be useable if nothing else is available, but it would be better if it was just the basic, untouched photos of the two of you.

Crossover Prog would be fine thanks. We plan on creating our albums in more if a Prog format interspersed with EPs (that we plan to call Any Other Business #1, #2, #3 etc where we plan to diversify into all manner of genres).

POMP are a punk/metal band which I believe are still going strong but Jonathan has left to concentrate on the Quantum Silence project.

Toast were a punk band in the late 90s.

Quantum Silence were formed when Jonathan (who works for the same company as me) found out that I mixed and mastered The Id’s music and asked if I could do the same for POMP. The Id was in a bit of a hiatus period and Jonathan and I hit it off and decided to have a go at creating some music of our own and the rest is history really.

Thanks for the additional info, Tim.

I'll ask the Crossover Team to carry out an evaluation right now.

The photo link you posted above does work, and is the same image that I posted myself in my previous post as one which might be useable if nothing else was available. I do think the image might perhaps be better for use on your page without the "Drummer Drumlote Ken" and "Keyboard Kephlete Ken" captions at the bottom (the drum and keyboard symbols further up the image are fine), but we'll use it if you don't still have the basic photos of the two of you which were used to create this image.

Well that didn't take long at all... https://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=12972" rel="nofollow - Quantum Silence added to Crossover.

Edit: Unfortunately, within about 20 minutes of me adding the project, someone had dived in and duplicated the 'Timelines' album. I'll get rid of it by overwriting the duplication with something by another artist at the earliest opportunity - unless our admins delete the album before I've found something to add to PA in its place.

When you need something to add in order to overwtrite a duplicate just give a look to Phrozenlight. I think there are about 100 entries left to add

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

^ Thanks for that, Luca. I'll definitely bear it in mind for future reference.

Anyway, it's all been sorted now. Gordy has added Sigilu to Psych/Space in the last few hours, and he hadn't got round to adding the albums, so I've dived in and done that myself - using Mayer's Quantum Silence duplication as the template for one of them.
