| I've noticed that Brian Eno doesn't get talked about much on this site. I'd consider him a great musician, as well as a guy who really deserves to get added to this site. I quite like Another Green World (featuring Robert Fripp on guitar!), and his ambient albums are great as well. |

I don't consider him prog, neither does the guy himself... yet I voted "yes" in order to give his musica leffrots to be listed in Prog Archives. His music is all about challenging and surprising the listener: his attitude towards performance and production is of "progressive interest", while not being progressive per se. Regards. |

I think of him as a progressive musician, and quite a talented one. However, I found much of his 'Ambient' series rather dull to be honest, especially 'Music for airports' I liked his work with Roxy Music, and he is credited with input on the 'Lamb lies down on Broadway' (I think). Its fair to say that not many musicians have his approach. ------------- Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy! |

Not all his discography can be ranged under the prog label...at the beginning of his career he made a kind of glam rock...until "An other Green World" that I estimate highly. For me this album is prog. See also his collaboration with Fripp and some of his ambiant parts "On Land", "Plateau of mirrors"..."Music for airports" has nothing to do with prog, it's just a furnishing minimalist music. -------------

I think there's a temptation with these polls to vote yes if you'd like to see them on this site, and no if you would not. I voted no, but I do acknowledge that some of his stuff probably is. |
