I intentionally excluded two albums(Close To The Edge, Relayer). Which one do you like most in this list?

Fragile easily...a stunning album. 4 excellent prog songs couped with 5 brilliant solo works. Pretty cool stuff.

Fragile is outstanding. Some days I prefer it to CTTE (and every day I prefer it to Relayer)

I must admit that I went back and forth between that, Going For The One, and Drama.

While Fragile is the the superior on that list I voted Going For The One... it's always been a favorite for me... there's just something about it that keeps me going back. Love it!

It's between Fragile and Going For The One..Both albums are great,  but there is only one Awaken so my choice is Going For The One...

The Yes Album all the way: my first and best experience with the band (not counting CTTE, of course)

I've always thought YES ALBUM sounded more ALIVE than FRAGILE.

oh, boy, that's tough – it would be a DRAW between the YES ALBUM, GFTO
and DRAMA, depending on the mood. and i'm in the mood for DRAMA today.

Fragile just edges out the Yes album for me.......
Tales is growing on me a little....but still not all that crazy about it.

All of 'em belong in a good rock collection IMO with Fragile being the obvious favorite due to grade A songwriting and the new chap on keys...that said, I'll vote for GFtO, it has a special place with me along with Relayer - two very different records showing the diverse talents of these musicians.

Fragile... it reminds me one of my best summers ever (I bought it on July 4th 1992, the very day I got my high school degree)

Aaaaah, so hard...
Out of these, I guess I'd have to go with TFTO, though it's really close between all of them excluding Drama. Heart of the Sunrise and Awaken are two of my all-time favorite tracks, so it's difficult... I guess I just went with the one that gave me more listening time! Wink

Yes album...killer Howe on Yours is No Disgrace, and of course, the awesome Starship Trooper

The Yes Album and Going for the One neatly bookend the most productive period for symphonic prog with two fabulous albums.  I voted for The Yes Album as the stronger of the two.  Only Close to the Edge surpasses it.

Nice poll. Only weak album for me is Drama. Today I pick: Fragile, then GFTO, then Tales. But tomorrow, it might be different....

It's gotta be The Yes Album.  Hard to argue with classics like Starship Troopers, Perpetual Change and Yours is No Disgrace, even though I liked their Yessongs versions better.  How many albums feature a trio as good as that?  And as a bonus, you also get a great pop song in Seen All Good People.

I'm a huge Yes fan and I really love ALL Yes discography... From that list I pick Drama... Very underrated album but one of the best that I've heard made by Yes... ok, made by Howe and Squire but a great album at last...

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

I would rank those mentioned in the following order:

The Yes Album:   It's not a piece of perfection like CTTE, but even the flaws are likeable here.   Heck, I had a friend whose favorite track was A Venture.   That's got to say something for the high quality of the entire album.

Going For The One:  Wondrous Stories is too sappy and too slickly produced.   I actively dislike the title song.   The rest of the album is wonderful.

Tales From Topographic Oceans::  None of the low points you find on GFTO but precious few high points either.  This is an album that you have to devote some serious time to and listen to all the way through.   You'll miss the point if you aren't paying attention to it the whole time.

Fragile:  Really a mixed bag here, sonically speaking.   Roundabout and South Side of the Sky are brilliant, most of the rest of it is good except for Wakeman's solo, but the tracks just don't seem to fit in with each other well.

Drama:   Should not be mentioned in the hallowed company of the other albums listed.  Machine Messiah is a major work, Tempus Fugit is fun, Into the Lens is uneven and the rest is forgettable.

The Yes Album, as it hasn't got a bad song on it. Every song is listenable, however, my favourite songs have to be Yours is no Disgrace and Starship Trooper and Clap.

Me too. There's an organic feel/sound to The Yes Album that's missing from Fragile.
