I find most subgenres to be quite good, favourites are. neo-prog symphonic prog Art Rock canterbury Zuehl Prog metal

I think everybody has posted most of what I like in each of the sub
genres. Henry Cow is a recent discovery for me however and a total

i voted neo-prog as that is just awesome but it is closely followed by prog metal! Pendragon and Dream Theater are amazing IQ and conception are excellant |

*some people seem to be under a misconception of what RIO really is, and although it was more of a "movement" then a subgenre...

Not a big fan of neo-prog my self... 1. Symphonic 2. Fusion 3. Art Rock 4. Space Rock/Experimental 5. Prog Metal Like others, genres seem useless to me. Just confuse the matter imo. -------------

For me, it's symphonic, mostly because some of my favourite prog bands
(Yes, Camel, Focus et al) are from that genre. I do like Art Rock a lot
too though.

| I voted Zeuhl, but only because it's the only subgenre that really has a unifying sound (by which I mean, I don't see any other subgenre as "cohesive" enough to vote for it - I love Genesis but not all that much other sympho). Maybe Krautrock, too, but I don't much care for that. |
