If you allow multiple suggestions, I will choose
Cyclone Force Majeure Stratosfear and Encore
Earth Heaven and Hell Spiral and Albedo
don't have a favorite FZ album at all... I didn't listen to my -even smaller- collection extensively...
------------- Listen to Turkish psych/prog; you won't regret: Baris Manco,Erkin Koray,Cem Karaca,Mogollar,3 Hürel,Selda,Edip Akbayram,Fikret Kizilok,Ersen (and Dadaslar) (but stick with the '70's, and 'early 80's!)

Nice one, greenback! I like seeing my name in big fonts! wish more people would be interested in it!
Why don't you start another thread on other bands; Yes, KC, Genesis maybe... and wouldn't it be better to allow multiple choices?!? my absolute favorite TD album is Cyclone, but force follows very closely...
(as for Earth: I know Heaven and Hell is much a masterpiece than this poorly produced avant-garde effort, but this is my personal favorite! what can I do among any Vangelis related work, you would easily guess what I would choose!)
Keep on proggin'

It's a shame this topic didn't arouse much interest!
And yet surprising it hasn't been moved, yet!!!
Just to keep it hot: I listened to several more Zappa albums and decided on my fave... Even the albums I listened after that didn't give me the same pleasure:
Hot Rats
I hope you're watching your thread, greenback! So, please place my name in the third place next to Hot Rats!!!
If it still does not arouse interest, I'll post some more comments
Peace

Not familiar with TD or Vangelis, and also I've listened to far too
much Zappa and like his work far too much to have a favorite album.

Vangelis "Spiral", "Heaven and Hell" and "Albedo 0.39"

Nice work, greenback!
Waiting forward to see other threads! if you're interested in bands with huge discographies, I suggest Wakeman, Klaus Schulze (not sure if the entire disco is in the archives, though), and Hawkwind! not to mention Yes, Genesis, King Crimson and other greats...
btw, what's all about Vangelis' Mask album??? I listened to it once, and could not find something to be the fave album... It is just an ordinary '80's production. Is it because you don't know the rest??!? (no offense!)

i have about 20 vangelis' albums!
vangelis' mask is just a wonderful album: i love it because of its intensity, refinement and emotions bringer, and most of all because of the omnipresent mythical dimension that is so fascinating! each time i listen to mask, i have shivers down the spine. if you have not been raised with a religious and mythological culture, then you will probably not be able to fully appreciate this record. This album is so meaningful to me: Mask refers to a VERY VERY mature & refined adult emotional experience, mixing romance, faith, love, recollection, reverence, worship, respect, might, sublimity, dread, heroism and anger.

Thank God I'm not alone in Cyclone!
I will give a heed to what you say and explore Mask once again, Greenback. I am more into "pompous" works than "awe inspiring" keyboard oriented works (except for wakey), that's why I didn't need to listen it further...
and I am happy to be the only one to have Earth as the favorite Vangelis album! have you listened to it? it's a very rare item, I think (I have it in an mp3 CD, like the rest of my Vangelis stuff!)
