Lots to love in this poll, but CABEZAS DE CERA baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love those guys. South American vibes, fusion, electronic, wild, avantguarde, ethereal, soothing and everything in between. I just need to get my hands on their latest album 'Hermandad'. Man I've been waiting for that.......Maybe sometime after Christmas, when the money starts jumping back in the barn

I like a lot of these bands and I can go either with CDC, Tempano, Os Mutantes or Flor De Loto. I guess I'll go with Flor De Loto since they are the most obscure one (I think). They have a very natural mix of their own native folk music and progressive rock, very unique and very very good!
And the more folky side...

Great poll!
In the list are classics like O Terco, Los Jaivas, MIA, Témpano, Os Mutantes...
I miss bands like Bacamarte, Nexus or Matraz.
Vote for Invisible, formed by the great Luis Alberto Spinetta!

I really like Cast and Cabezas de Cera. However, I am not familiar with the other bands.

From the list O Terço. Would've voted for Aisles, Violeta de Outono, Aether, and Nexus, too.

Why didn't you vote for Angra? They have no votes yet.

I voted for MIA. I could have voted for Cast or CdC, too.
However, a band I really liked from down there was Matraz. Too bad they inexplicably ceased recording without explanation after Gritaré. The guitarist went on to join Cast, interestingly.

I voted Cast but Tempus Fugit is awesome. As well as Violeta do Outono, Amagrama, Dogma and Aether.

Now this album is quite a masterpiece! My favorite from them. I also listened to their debut this week, the reissue contains 3 unreleased tracks from 1998 when they launched the band back again, very good stuff! this decade is their strongest, no doubt about it.

I voted for Flor De Loto and posted two videos in the previous page, so you can check it out see if fits.
Edit: But if you're into more 70's stuff than for starters try Os Mutantes. I believe you can't go wrong with this...
That's more my cup of tea.......the Latin American version of all that early Brit prog rock.

Invisible Opera Company Of Tibet deserves a mentioning. The name and idea behind this thing comes from the mind of Daevid Allen. It is a project that involves whatever band willing to explore a free and dare I say psychedelic approach to music making. No matter where they're situated. This version of IOCOT is from Brasil and is basically two thirds of Violeta de Outono. A band I really dig too.
I remember buying this album entitled Ufo Planante after having read my good friend John's review of it. I was floored from the get-go. The opening 27 minute monster of a track is just fantastic!

Agreed. Also Congreso and Bacamarte. I voted for Tempano but could just have easily picked MIA or Flor de Loto.
