I took one long song from each album, so which is your fav? There is no "make a poll" option in the prog related room so I posted it here, admins can move it if they like although these are progy songs  |

progy songs? 5 of them are blues-based songs, The Lemon Song is a straight lift from Killing Floor and When the Levee Breaks is an old blues song, although they did at least manage to part-credit Memphis Minnie for it.
If it were the live version of The Rain Song from The Song Remains the Same, I would vote for that, otherwise it's When the Levee Breaks.

Bluesy of course but that doesn't mean they are not kind of progy, not your ordinary blues songs that's for sure. Anyway I never considered Zeppelin to be a prog band, far from it but they certainly had their moments. About The Lemmon Song I just wanted to include something from the second album. |

I would have chosen "Kashmir" (my favorite Led Zeppelin song and in my opinion the most proggy one) instead of "In the Light" and the good old "Stairway to Heaven" instead of "When the Levee Breaks". from the list I choose "Since I've been Loving You" -------------  A shot of me as High Priestess of Gaia during our fall festival. For me it's between How Many and Levee....since I usually prefer their harder edged blues rock numbers...went with Levee and I think Zep 4 is their most well rounded LP. ------------- One does nothing yet nothing is left undone. Haquin |

Levee, Rain, Light and Carouselambra are all brilliant, so in the absence of Achilles, that has alway been my favourite it has to be The Rain Song

Ten years gone ------------- All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock. |

After Tales came out Jimmy Page was asked by Melody Maker what the next thing for Zep would be and he said he's like to do something a bit more complex and arty like Yes--and Physical Graffiti was their next album.

This. I tend to like their less popular songs best. For some reason I really like Sick Again, which some consider the worst song on the album. Four Sticks is my favorite on 4. |
