While I can't really add anything else important not described by the last two reviews, I feel a deep respect for this album and I'm upset by the low amount of users apparently aware of this.

Argus is fine and dandy, but this album here, is just raw, amazing instrumental work, incredible melodic writing, and more progressive than Argus. You might be put off by the placing in "Prog Related", but this album is pure prog for 3/4 of it's running time.

The twin lead guitarists add a dimension I don't often see in other bands, the dual soloing, off on their own, then coming back to harmonize in the songs main riff. a good example of that is the beginning of Handy. Perfectly weaving muted guitar, then it leads into a more upbeat symphonic structure that just works so well. The track also has some of the best soloing I've ever heard, so raw and emotional, well written and executed.

Tracks like Pheonix are rare. Majestic vocals, delicious guitar melodies, suspense, crashing climaxes.. brilliant! Errors of my Ways is the track I immediately became fond off, the folkish vocals that are so sublime, the neat melodic guitars, meaningful lyrics..

Blind Eye is nothing special, some odd type of blues track.. it leads into Lady Whiskey which is a awesome rocker with some great soloing. Queen of Torture is in the same vein and just as wonderful.

The average level of maturity astounds me, this album, in 1970, just outclasses what most popular prog acts were putting out by that year. To top it off, it sound like they have already been around a decade.

Blind Eye 2/5

Lady Whiskey 4/5

Errors of my Ways 5/5

Queen of Torture 4/5

Handy 5/5

Pheonix 5/5

Please, do yourself a favour and pick this up on CD. I promise you will be pleasantly surprised.
