4 stars This is THE essence of Dream Theater in a single package

How great it is to find five of the most interesting prog metal albums of the last 20 years for less than US$24? That is what you'll find in this great package. Sure, this is highly recommended for new DT fans or for those who only have heard the last two or three albums. Well, I won't go in details of each album, but I don't need to say that Images & Words, Awake and Metropolis Pt_2 are five star albums without a doubt. The addition of Falling into Infinity, which ended up being one of the most interesting and obscure albums of the band and the Train of Thought, the "heaviest" album they've made. So, you have the whole picture of DT in one long sitting.

The quality of the product is high class, remaining faithful to the true sound of each album, no ugly remixes or tweaks in anyway. This is how the CDs sounded back in the day. You will only miss the booklet and internal art of each, 'cause it only came in little nice thin cardboards, with the front art and the rear art.

It's also a great piece for those DT collectors, like me, and for those others that like to hear actual albums and want to give a rest to the original albums. I bought it basically because my Falling into Infinity copy has really scratched, so problem solved. But it was nice to see the new art over each CD. It's quite nice.

All that for less than US$24 is just too much. This is a great way to explore DT universe, but of course, if you like it, you should go and buy each original album, 'cause the internal art enhance the experience for sure.

Great deal. Four solid stars.
