4 stars I recently got this album from England's website after almost ordering the (dodgy) Jap import by mistake. I must say I'm very impressed by it and the accompanying booklet which is about the size of an old 45. Sure, the volcals are very 'Yes like' and some of the rythms do bring to mind some early Genisis but I'm of the school that thinks this band just turned out that way and didn't deliberately set out to sound like these bands. I was struck by the occassional synth passage that lapsed into an almost fairground sound and this kind playing for me anyway, shows that a band display humour and give themselves something of an identity. I've heard the same humour, fleetingly, on Yezda Urfa's Sacred Baboon and when a band can do this it elevates them above the normal. I can't fault any of the musician's involved here as they all sound very competent and have delivered a great album. It has a great full sound to it that just keeps me interested from start to finish and for that reason I'd have to say give it a go. At £20 it's not cheap but this record will not be far from my CD player from now on, and that's for sure.
