4 stars I only became aware of Knight Area through the release of their second album (also reviewed), and was very impressed, not only with the differential nod to the past but the high level of melody and chordal structure demonstrated, as was said to me in my youth some crunching chords that that allows the listener to perk up their ears... sublime.

Now for the other aspects - the differential nods - Pink Floyd, Genesis amongst others, are present with the vocal melody and keyboard spread. (The Gate of Eternity and Moods Inspiring Clouds is very Floydesque). Very competent guitar and keyboard solos litter the tracks, unlike many other Neo Prog, they are quite happy with the inclusion of folk (Squeezebox), classical and jazz (The Gate of Eternity and Saevis Tranquillis Also Rises).

A very listenable album worthy of addition to any Neo Prog collection, if you like IQ, Pendragon, Arena, Pallas, etc, etc, then this is essential listening. Worthy of the four stars.
