3 stars Not a big Neo Prog fan but after read the reviews about Pallas album I decided to listen at least one of their albums so I choose The Sentinel... and I've got no regret...

The album was made in the mid 80's. My biggest fear was to listen another band which use and abuse of synthesizers but (lucky me!) this was ot the case. Even when you can't find anything surprising (Pallas music doesn't break the Neo Prog codes), it's a very energetic album full of exquisite musical passages, some dark and athmospherical moments and of course some poppish songs like Shock Treatment or Arrive Alive (by far the weakest songs of the album). On the other hand, you can listen some good tracks full of brilliant sections as Cut and Run, Rise and Fall (both parts), Atlantis (which contains a short but powerful homage to Jesus Christ Superstar) and the awsome Ark of Infinity even when the closing section reminds the last minutes of Gates of Delirium.

Most of the songs are very epical and you can feel the effort to make a serious album into the Neo Prog rules of the 80's. Not a great album but enjoyable.
