The greatest album with Rob Evans? Hmmm... No, not in my opinion.

This is what I think, track-by-track:

Chasing Shadows: Strange psychedelic rhythm, with essence from the African folk music. It ends abruptly, like they pulled the plug. Not a special song, and a bad choice for an album opener.

Blind: Very catchy soft rocker, I would love it if Paul Anka covered it. The keyboards are obviously fantastic, while bass is subcutaneously great. Really great song!

Lalena: Elegant love ballad, sounds MUCH better sang by Ian Gillan at later live performances. Too quiet for my taste on it's original form.

Fault Line: Intro for The Painter, with reverse effect

The Painter: Straight forward rocker, it loosely reminds me of Foxy Lady by Jimi Hendrix. Not a very special song, but an enjoyable one.

Why Didn't Rosemary?: Basically a boogie rocker, but the keyboards add the unique element. Most of the song consists of keyboard and guitar solos, but others have done it better in this genre. Nothing fancy.

Bird Has Flown: Musically close to the shock rock style of SJH and SLS, but yet again the keyboards make the difference. The second half of the song consists of keyboard improvisations. Nothing fancy, again.

April: Wow! This is a classical music composition for the first 8:40, and then a completely different song begins, an epic rocker in the style that Uriah Heep made famous. Fantastic song!

RATING: I don't see why people think so high of this album. It's more colorful than the previous two, but the compositions are definitely not at the same level. Blind and April are classics, but the rest of them? What's so great about the rest of them? I don't see it. 2,5 stars actually, but 2 is too low, so 3.
