2 stars Forget about the spacy classical psychedelic Eloy of the 70's and get into the typical 80's synthesizers era! After awsome albums like Inside, Dawn, Oceans or Planets, Eloy gets into the 80's with Metromania, an album full of catchy melodies leaded by all the sounds and effects that you could create with synthesizers during the 80's!

But I must be honest: even when all the songs sounds like a typical 80's pop rock album (with some little prog sections), Eloy does a decent work. Starting with the catchy intro of "Escape to the Heights", you can hear every song with a smile on your face. As I said, catchy rhythms, some interesting guitar sections, many (sometimes too many!) synthesizer backgrounds or complete sections and a pair of songs which still remember the old works, like "All Life is One" and "Follow the Light".

Anyway, maybe an album just for fans or fanatics of the electronic 80's sound... Just 2.4* for me...
