2 stars I was really very disappointed by this album. Being a massive Floyd fan and having thoroughly enjoyed Gilmour's first solo album i was eagerly anticipating more of the same muical quality. Instead, I found this album to be very sluggish and amateur sounding, more like something that a bored dentist in a mid life crisis would produce than a musical virtuoso such as Mr.Gilmour. There are a few good tracks on this album however, such as On an Island, which sounds like 80's Pink Floyd and This Heaven which is very similar to some of the stuff on Gilmour's first and quite frankly far better solo album. I seem to be in the minority here however and it may just be me who thinks that this is a mediocre release at best, but I really am struggling to see the appeal in tracks like The Blue, which just seems like middle of the road blandness to me. 2 stars.
