5 stars I'm quite new to Yes but not to prog, I've listen bits of "the yes album" and "fragile" (which are albums that I want to take my time on) but I've known "Close to the edge" for way more time, glad I am finally taking some time for this band. I've read many of the reviews of this album and I really tend to agree with many of 5 stars ones I've read and yes many of the things are already said, so I will only leave my small contribute for this outstanding godlike work. We're not only dealing here with a album which is one of the best Yes records, as we are also dealing with what it is regarded to be the best progressive rock album of ALL TIME. (which is a fact) There's a reason its so highly rated, there's a reason this album is number 1 on all history of progressive rock, there's a lot of reasons why there are so many suggestions on the reviews to listen this album. This right here is only another honest one. Tastes may differ from person to person, on which can or not be the best album of progressive rock, I really don't have time or interest to be discussing that, but one cannot deny the intense greatness of this album. This album set a new ground and created a new concept of what the progressive music came to be, even today, not matter what genre we are talking about. If you consider yourself to be a person that likes prog, you need to know this album and I won't highlight any song of this album, no need, just listen tthe whole album and pay attention to where everything fits together coming down to perfection. Feel the "take this super album in your face" punch from Yes.

"Fragile" will be the next one for me to take some time on... hopefully it will be fun.

I can't still believe that such a super album like this was ever made. It still shocks me. What a masterpiece.
