5 stars Probably my favorite from the Floyd. The one and only album from the great band on which the line-up include 5 members - Syd Barrett sing on Jugband Blues, and play guitar on Remember A Day and Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun - maybe on Corporal Clegg too...and there is also David Gilmour, of course, and for the first time in the band history. Too short (only 39 minutes, but for 7 tracks), with a very cheap production and sound - the worse on a Pink Floyd studio release), A Saucerful Of Secrets contains a lot of psychedelic rock anthems : the long, instrumental title track, Set The Controls..., Let There Be More Light...A strange atmosphere is on this album, almost oppressive. Very dark, very weird ambiance. All in all, this album, the second from the Floyd, is probably the one I consider as their best in their pre- Dark Side Of The Moon era. Quite underrated though.
