5 stars THE SAGA BEGINS HERE... yep it all started in 1978. This is an amazing debut album, it's quite possibly the best debut album any Canadian band has put out thus far. The reasons are simple, the music here is very good and finely crafted right through from start to finish. There are people out there that don't understand the "synth" thing, that's fine... but if you like keys and you like the whole keyboard/guitar dual idea, than you're in for a treat!! SAGA's guitarist Ian Crichton and their Keyboardist at the time Peter Rochon really shine here, one of my favourite moments on this CD is "Humble Stance", which in my opinion is the albums strongest track. Just listen to the interplay between I. Crichton and Rochon near the end of "Humble Stance", this track goes down as one of SAGA's biggest concert attractions, the live version is really something to experience!! The album finishes with a bang on a track called "Tired World" which is Chapter 6 of what will become a 16 Chapter Story that finishes on 2003's Marathon. If you're new to SAGA, the first album is definately a great place to start.
